Arcade Fire Tickets
Montreal Indie band Arcade Fire has announced North American dates and venues, as part of their Reflektor Tour. The band will stop in Seattle to play at the Gorge Amphitheatre on August 8, 2014.
Reflektor is the fourth album by the Canadian band, led by husband and wife Win Butler and Régine Chassagne. All of Arcade Fire's past albums have been released to critical acclaim, and their latest offering is no different. With James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem as producer, this is an epic double album that is at times dark, while also ethereal and grand. Pitchfork called it "a triumph".
There can be little doubt that Arcade Fire has given us some of the most important albums of the last decade; their debut 'Funeral' received Grammy nominations, countless other awards, and appears on lists of the best albums of the 2000's, reaching number 2 on Pitchfork's list for that category. It was a recording that defined a sound, and helped turn the spotlight on a blossoming Canadian music scene.
As good as they are on their recordings, Arcade Fire still has a reputation as a band that should be experienced live; always an indication of true musicians. With six members onstage, live performances are a guaranteed spectacle of lighting effects and elaborate costumes. Win Butler wants his audience to be part of the spectacle, asking people to come in formal attire, although he has since stated the request shouldn't be taken too seriously. This is an artist that wants to connect with his audience.
The Gorge Amphitheatre will be one of the more unique stops on the tour, and is a beautiful venue for a group like Arcade Fire. Set in the Columbia River Valley, the Amphitheatre is an outdoor concert venue has a majestic view of the Cloumbian River. It is a truly breathtaking spot to experience a concert from one of the great bands of our time.
